Nehru Museum As per the plan and
design of Robert Tor Russel, this structure was
the residence of the British Commander-in-chief.
Since India got its independence in 1947, it was
converted as the residence of the first Prime Minister
of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.After his death
in 1964, it was converted into a museum.
This museum has a research library. The terraced
rose garden looks beautiful in full bloom. During
the tourist season, a light and sound show depicting
his life and the independence movement is held.
At Jawaharjyoti Garden, the historical speech on
15th August, 1947,- the eve of India's independence
has been inscribed in stone.
